PASTILLAS, BROOMS, AND GIANT SPOONS AND FORKS: ADVENTURES IN METRO MANILA AND THE PHILIPPINES
Nice series. That nice building in the last picture seems to be empty. Is that along Roxas Blvd?
it is empty. it is being converted into a hotel. Beside it is a new (but still close) and very hip-looking hotel called G.
checked out funky G-Hotel and I was inofrmed by the sekyus that it was being sold(!?!) It hasnt been opened yet!!Sidney, That empty building is the Admiral hotel..the last grand dame of Roxas boulevard...
OMG. Being sold?! I've been waiting for it to open!!! :-(yes, that's the Admiral Hotel. The name escaped me during posting. it is done in an all-cream color scheme but is orange here because of the sunset.
I miss the B-B-Q Plaza at the Dewey. You remember year when they have b-b-q stalls at Dewey Blvd. when it gets dark?
Anonymous, I am surprised you called it the Dewey. When was the last time you were in the Philippines?Yes, they still have the BBQ stalls there but there's a string of restaurants lining the beachfront now. You must come visit again!
admiral hotel it is.it's a historic hotel being the japanese headquarters during WW2 then by the Americans (Gen MacArthur) before the liberationsell it but please don't demolish like the others
Indeed. Sana huwag na sirain. Please, can someone - any one - do something to band concerned citizens together to help prevent further demolitions?
